Incident at Exeter
DISPUTED
Hitchhiker Norman Muscarello saw five pulsing red lights hover over a field on Route 150 and rushed to the Exeter police station. Returning with Officer Eugene Bertrand, both — and then Officer David Hunt — watched the lights rise from behind trees and move over the field.
Explanation
The Air Force first blamed a military exercise and twinkling stars, then changed the case to "unidentified". A 2011 Skeptical Inquirer analysis proposed a KC-97 refuelling tanker.
