Manises — airliner diversion & Mirage intercept
DISPUTED
TAE flight JK-297 from Salzburg (via Palma) to Las Palmas saw red lights approach on a collision course near Ibiza and track the aircraft after it changed altitude. The captain diverted to Valencia — the first airliner diverted by a UFO. A Mirage F1 from Los Llanos then chased lights that accelerated away.
Explanation
Spanish Air Force files declassified in the 1990s did not confirm an anomalous object; researchers attribute the lights to refinery flare stacks and bright stars/planets.
