USS Omaha sphere & USS Russell "pyramids"
During July 2019, several Navy ships off Southern California reported drone-like objects around them at night. A CIC video from USS Omaha shows a sphere flying over the ocean and apparently descending into the water; night-vision footage from USS Russell shows blinking pyramid-shaped lights. Both leaked in 2021 and were confirmed as authentic Navy footage.
Explanation
The Pentagon confirmed the leaked clips were taken by Navy personnel. Analysts attribute the "pyramids" to the triangular aperture of a night-vision lens (bokeh) on aircraft/stars, and the Omaha sphere to a distant aircraft or balloon.
